Facial hair is more than just a modern trend or a fashion choice – it’s a way of life. Whether long and luxurious or kept close to the cheek, facial hair is the mark of membership in a unique and ever growing brotherhood. The Ithaca Beard and Mustache Club is but a local subset of this great brotherhood, formed with the goal of bringing together the masses who live to grow facial hair and enjoy doing it. The IBMC is committed to promoting interest in and respect for facial hair, supporting charitable organizations, sponsoring local networking events and fostering positive public relations because with great facial hair comes great responsibility.
The Chili 'Stache and Beard Competition will be held February 8th on the Ithaca Commons during the Ithaca Chili Fest.
The registration will go from 12 pm to 2:30 pm on the corner of Bank Alley and the Commons. The competition itself will be held from 3 pm to 4:30 pm on the Bernie Milton Pavilion. We will not do any registration online and it will be only the day of. Please make sure you are registered by 2:30 pm. Competitions will include:
Sans Barbe (fake beard) - Create your best facial hair show piece and bring it down to party!!
The Chili 'Stache
Partial Beard - You can have any style as long as facial hair growth covers part, but not all of your skin.
Full Beard - Less than or equal to 6 inches
Full Beard - Greater than 6 inches (measured from the bottom lip)
Best in Show (New) - We want you to dress up (with or without a bead), be enthusiastic. We want amazing and creative! Yes, there will be an award for this.
The suggested registration fee is $10 for the Chili 'Stache and Beard Competition. All proceeds will go to RISE and donated under Ithaca Beard and Mustache Club.
